Corporate golf tournament — Hughes Events

Hughes Events

The Art of the Corporate Golf Tournament

It shows in the experience out on the course — playing like a professional in a real tournament.

Why a Hughes Events Tournament

What sets us apart from any other organizer

A well-produced golf tournament is the most important marketing tool there is. In a corporate golf tournament there is no conference room that competes with 18 holes shared with a client, a partner or a prospect.

The difference between a memorable golf tournament and one nobody remembers is in the details. Branding a corporate golf tournament is strategic: it shows in the quality, and in the welcome kit guests take home and show off. The photo they post about your tournament says everything about how strategic your event was.

What makes us different is that we study golf as a social, competitive and enjoyable sport. We have experience across many courses and tournaments, nationally and internationally, and we have worked alongside the PGA, LIV Golf, the Mexican Golf Federation and the Mexican Women’s Golf Association — bodies recognized worldwide.

The process

How we do it

01

Briefing & Objectives

We meet in person or over Zoom to understand your objectives, your vision, who your guests will be, your brand strategy and what you want to achieve. Every tournament starts as a conversation of ideas with clear goals.

02

Tournament Design

We build the playing format around the right strategy — whether you want a competitive tournament or one built for networking. The visual concept is strategic, as is the shortlist of potential sponsors, and we draft a minute-by-minute agenda for the day.

03

Logistics & Production

We coordinate the golf course, catering, branding, welcome kits, photography, video, staff, on-course activities and every detail we tailor to your tournament.

04

Tournament Day

We are on the course from first light, setting everything up before play begins. You are the host of your event; Hughes Events takes care of the detail and the logistics of the whole tournament.

05

Follow-up & Storytelling

We deliver a photo gallery, video highlights of the tournament, an attendance report and the tools to measure the impact of your tournament with potential clients. The idea is that your tournament tells a great story and stays in everyone’s memory.

Playing formats

The right format for every objective

Stableford

The most popular format for corporate golf tournaments. It lets golfers of every level compete fairly based on their handicap. Being a points system, it also keeps play flowing properly around the course.

Scramble or A go-go

This format lets two or more players choose the best of the balls they hit. It is ideal for a tournament built around networking and camaraderie, and it still lets strong players take part on equal terms.

Medal Play or Stroke Play

The most competitive format there is. Individual play, where golfers compete to be the champion on handicap. It is the traditional format for tournaments of real competition, and it counts every single stroke across the 18 holes.

Best Ball

Each player plays their own ball. On every hole the scores are compared and the better of the two counts, with handicap. It is a friendly tournament format, because each player still gets to play their own score.
