ABC Charity Golf Tournament presented by American Express

ABC CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT PRESENTED BY AMERICAN EXPRESS

The ABC Medical Association Charity Golf Tournament took place on May 12 at Bellavista Golf & Country Club, presented by American Express and produced by Hughes Events with 120 players competing. Proceeds support the ABC Medical Center Foundation, which serves economically vulnerable communities through eight health programs focused on prevention, early childhood and high-specialty care. The format was 4-player team A-Go-Go, designed to maximize networking on course.

Special guests included sports broadcaster Fernando Tirado (ESPN Mexico), former Ecuadorian footballer and Fox Sports Mexico analyst Alex Aguiñaga, and actor and host José Manuel Lechuga (a.k.a. Lechugol), alongside several ABC Medical Center physicians, friends and clients.

The closing ceremony was hosted by Dr. Carlos Linder, Dr. Adiel Asch and Mariana Hughes, with multiple on-course activations. Dr. Manuel Gerardo Bermúdez Ochoa, president of the ABC Medical Association, addressed the participants directly.

American Express representatives joined for the awards. The winning team scored 60 points: Eduardo Hernández, Ricardo Vargas, Roberto Anguiano and Octavio Diez de Solano. Second place — also at 60 — went to Gerardo Cota, Miguel Yahir Ayala, Andrés Ocejo and Enrique Vázquez (decided by handicap). Third place at 64 points: Rodrigo Pérez Gay, Juan Carlos Mainero, Luis Vega de Lergo and Juvencio Borbón.

Jimena Gutiérrez, foundation director, spoke about the impact of the pandemic and the relevance of each ABC program.

Sponsors included American Express, Maestro Dobel, Tempur, Amanali, Orfe México, Maevn, Mercedes-Benz, Jukebox, Cala de Mar, Fiesta Americana, Heraldo, Maranta, Manigua, Revo, Oris and Paddock — among others.

This corporate golf tournament successfully convened the medical sector, with the goal of becoming an annual fixture.
